The thirteenth Oktoberfest, organized by the Macedonian – German Economic Association, was opened yesterday in a traditional way as it opens at the Oktoberfest in Munich. The first barrel with beer was hammered with a wooden hammer, and the celebration began with the saying “O’zapft is” – “The tap is open”.

""

The Director of the Delegation of the German Economy in the Republic of Macedonia, Patrick Martens, the Deputy Ambassador of the German Embassy in Macedonia, Otto Graf, the General Manager of Pivara Skopje, Dan Timotin and the General Manager of the Prilepska pivarnica, Saso Samardzioski traditionally opened the thirteenth Oktoberfest.

„It is our great honor and pleasure to be, for the third time, the host of the Oktoberfest – the most popular beer festival in the world. I am sure that people here love beer, just as much as we love and respect it in Pivara Skopje. We know well that beer brings people together, that it is part of every celebration and that it creates and strengthens friendships, perfectly fits with excellent food, and helps us relax and enjoy each moment of life. In Pivara Skopje we are very proud of our wide portfolio of beer brands, of our long tradition, great knowledge, perfect experience and advanced technology for beer production. Our permanent mission is to enable all beer lovers to feel the magic of this wonderful drink that connects people. And of course, we are very committed to our efforts for promotion of the beer culture. This unique event, organized by the Macedonian – German Economic Association, is the perfect opportunity for this, by celebrating the world’s most magnificent drink – beer. Enjoy your time, but don’t forget to enjoy responsibly“, said Dan Timotin at the opening of the event.

""

Pivara Skopje for the third time hosted this prestigious event attended by guests from the business sector, ambassadors, representatives from the media and culture.

The Oktoberfest celebration in Skopje has grown into a tradition as a significant event for the City of Skopje, important for the cooperation both economically and culturally between our country and Germany. Oktoberfest has been celebrated for 200 years in Munich and this event is attended by 6 million visitors. This year is held from September 21 to October 6.
