Ahead of the New Year and Christmas holidays, Pivara Skopje and the City of Skopje organized a Santa Run that brought together more than 500 participants of all ages. The goal of the race was to promote, through fun, the importance of an active lifestyle and achieving a balance between calories consumed and calories burned. “We congratulate all the Santas who took part in the race. They are true winners from whom we can all learn and be encouraged on how to achieve an energy balance between what we take into our bodies through food and beverages and what we expend through physical activity, which is essential for maintaining good health,” said Aleksandar Ružević, General Director of Pivara Skopje, expressing his satisfaction that the aims of this pre-holiday race align with the core principles and values advocated by Pivara Skopje. The race also had a philanthropic character. The funds collected through the participation fee will be allocated to the construction of an active zone in Skopje, where outdoor fitness and exercise equipment will be installed. “I hope that in this way we will all, together, inspire people to start changing their habits so they can achieve the perfect balance within today’s modern pace of living, bringing more health and joy to all of us and to future generations,” Ružević emphasized. The task for the runners, who were symbolically dressed in Santa costumes, was to complete a 1.6-kilometer route starting at Philip II Square and finishing at the Woman Fighter Park in central Skopje. Symbolic prizes, medals, and certificates of appreciation were awarded to the first participants to cross the finish line, and an accompanying entertainment program was organized for all participants and visitors.
